Role & scope

Site Mechanical Engineer / Acting Project Engineer for the defined scope, within my Olayan Descon field experience. I coordinated and supported execution, contractor interfaces, inspection/testing transitions, acceptance, and return-to-service readiness.

Six exchanger scopes were involved: two lube-oil coolers, one U-type, two floating-head exchangers, and one vertical exchanger. Five maintenance scopes progressed concurrently; the vertical exchanger followed a separate off-site retubing path.

Concurrent execution

I coordinated five maintenance scopes across contractors and work areas, maintained visibility across completion stages, and supported transitions through NDT, hydrotesting, box-up, final acceptance, and return to service.

For the separate vertical exchanger, I expedited preparation and dispatch to Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province for off-site retubing.

Results by scope group

U-type / floating-head group

Planned4 weeks
Actual3 weeks

25% shorter execution duration than baseline

Lube-oil coolers

Planned3 weeks
Actual≈1.8 weeks

Approximately 40% shorter execution duration than baseline

Five completed maintenance scopes · Zero rework

Maintenance → NDT → Hydrotesting → Box-up → Final acceptance → Return to service.

Both charts use the same 0–4-week scale. The two baseline comparisons remain separate; they are not a whole-turnaround result. The vertical exchanger was prepared and dispatched for off-site retubing.

Outcome attribution

The schedule and zero-rework figures are project/team outcomes for the defined maintenance scope groups. My contribution was scope and interface coordination. These figures are not a whole-turnaround result; the vertical retubing scope is separate.
